The UBM Group started its international activities and partner network in 1996, when the company was established and soybean trade was started.
In 2012, under a license from the Norwegian Borregaard company, a special technology for soybean processing was launched in Környe, from where our SoyPreme™ and Full-fat soy products are also delivered to the neighboring countries. In 2016, with the launch of the Környe premix plant, we have integrated the state-of-the-art facility in Central and Eastern Europe into the circulation of feed manufacturing.
One of the main tasks of our export division is the sale of poultry, swine, and ruminant panels, premixes, concentrates and feed supplements on the international markets with the professional support of our business divisions’ feed and technology experts. Using raw materials of internationally accepted quality, we work with our partners to manufacture 14,000 tons of premixes annually and develop competitive products that meet both cost-efficiency and high-quality expectations. The work of our partners is supported by our free consultancy services. Our main target markets are Slovakia, Romania, Serbia, Croatia, and Poland.
With the establishment of UBM Russia, our commercial activities will expand and our office in Moscow will allow us to reach the Russian market.
In 2018 we opened our Grain Trading office in Bucharest as the first step of our Romanian expansion, followed by opening an office in Serbia in 2019.
In 2018 we purchased the feed manufacturing plant in Čaňa, Slovakia from where we supply our partners with 50,000 tons of feed which we will double next year, after reconstruction. Our affiliated company, UBM Agro Slovakia produces and supplies for partners in four countries: Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia.
In 2019 we opened a new feed manufacturing plant in Sânpaul, Romania. It is the largest independent feed mill in the region. UBM Feed Romania – owned by the UBM Group, East Group, and Oprea Avicom – has accomplished an outstanding investment in the agricultural sector of the Mureş region. With a total investment of 15.6 million EUR the country’s largest independent feed mill – which is not owned by an integration – has been established. With a capacity of 30 tons/hour and 220,000 tons annually, it is one of the region’s largest and most modern feed mills in Europe. The investment was justified by the market potential of the country, including the Transylvanian region. As the market leader in Hungary, the UBM Group has a sector-specific knowledge of the Romanian feed market.
